They receive heat treatment consisting of hardening (heating the blade), subzero (quenching from -50 to -196 degrees), and tempering (increasing the steel's flexibility) for longer life and greater efficiency. The ergonomic, anatomical handle provides safety during use. Made of polycarbonate and fiberglass, the handle is injected directly onto the steel backing and finished with aluminum rivets. Century Line carries a 25-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and is NSF certified, the National Sanitation Foundation, an internationally recognized organization whose consulting, inspection, and training practices aim to ensure the sanitation of food, water, air, and the environment. The pieces are dishwasher safe.
